English/Language Arts
Instructor:  Ms Breanne Pelletier
June 23-July 18       8:00-11:30 a.m.
This Academy will emphasize writing skills and reading strategies.  Students will be exposed to various components of effective writing and strategies for improving their reading comprehension. 

Mathematics
Instructor:  Mr. Josh Tripp
June 23-July 18       8:00-11:30 a.m.
This Academy is primarily for students in need of an Algebra I credit; however, arrangments can be made to earn Geometry or Algebra II credits (see instructor for details).

Science
Instructor:  Ms Teri Dennison
June 23-July 18       1:30-5:00 p.m.
This Academy allows students the opportunity to earn credit to fulfill a
physical science or lab biology requirement. 

Social Studies
Instructor:  Mr. Bill Tracy
June 23-July 18       8:00-11:30 a.m.
(Please note that one of the weeks will be held in the afternoon.)
This Academy allows students the opportunity to earn credit to fulfill a
world studies or U.S. historyrequirement.

School Lunch Information

LUNCH APPLICATIONS
In order for students to qualify for free and reduced lunches, families must fill out an
application each year.  If you have not filled out an application for the 2008-2009 school year,
you need to do so as soon as possible, so not to interrupt lunch services.  Applications are available
from the school secretaries at each school, or you can download the application by clicking on this link.

Lunch:       $2.25   Reduced $ .40   Adult $3.50

Nutritionally, school lunches are planned to meet one-third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances.  School lunch meets this requirement and only 30% of its calories come from fat. 

All school lunches are subsidized by the federal government, even those for which students pay 'full price.'  Also, the Bucksport School Department's meals program receives government commodities for all student meals. 

In the operation of the Bucksport School Department's meals program, no child shall be
discriminated against because of race, sex, color, national origin, physical or mental handicap.
